Fr. Paul Raaz
Father Paul has just completed his first year as
pastor of our Catholic Community. He
was ordained a priest in 1970 and has served as pastor at St. Stephen, St. Mary
Magdalen, and Resurrection of the Lord parishes in San Antonio. Fr. Paul was born and raised in
El Campo,
Texas, and attended
Deacon Alfonso Moreno
Deacon Alfonso has served many years as deacon in
our community. He was born in
________, Guanajuato, and ordained in ____.
He is involved in baptism and marriage preparation, in preaching, and
many other aspects of parish life. Deacon
Alfonso usually assists at the 8:00 am (SH) and 11:30 (SP) masses each weekend.

Deacon Terry Brennan
Deacon Terry hails originally from Cleveland, OH area, and was ordained a deacon in 2002.
Like Deacon Alfonso, he is involved in baptism and marriage preparation,
in preaching, and many ministries, especially those connected the ACTS
Community. Deacon Terry usually
assists at the 5:30 pm (SJ), 9:30 am (SJ), and 5:15 pm (SH) masses on weekends.

Hope Guevara
Hope, our parish secretary, is at the very center
of parish life. She takes care of
many day-to-day operations in our community: weekly bulletin, scheduling masses,
keeping the parish calendar, administering hall rentals, prayer line, funeral
coordination, managing cemetery plots, keeping sacramental records.
She finds priests in emergency when Father Paul is unavailable, and is

Pat Brennan
Pat is the Director of Religious Education,
coordinating with Father Paul in designing and implementing our program of
Religious Education for youth and adults. Pat
also directs the Cielo Program, an after-school program for children to give
them a basis in Catholic doctrine and spirituality, and help with homework.

Tommy Irle
Tommy is the handy man who keeps the parish in one piece.
You’ll see him all around the parish with his sack of tools in one hand
and mop and broom in the other; keeping the buildings of Sacred Heart and St.
James (and occasionally St. Patrick’s) clean and in good repair.
Billy Benes
Billy spends hundreds of hours each year as a volunteer, and we consider him
part of our personnel. You’ll see
him every afternoon and sometimes in the morning, helping with projects for our
parish office, our Religious Education and Cielo programs.
Billy is a great assistant to our secretary, Hope.
Jerome Pavliska
Jerome is our recently-hired accountant/bookkeeper,
and is responsible for handling the financial records of St. James, Sacred Heart
and St. Patrick parishes.
